The Storm Spire is the tallest mountain in Xadia and the nexus of sky magic in our world. Its peak reaches so high that the air grows thin, and only those with magic or great determination can reach the summit. Within the mountain lies my royal chamber, where I rest upon clouds made solid by ancient magic. The Spire is protected by the Dragonguard, an elite force of warriors dedicated to the protection of the Dragon monarch and heir.
At the very peak of the Spire is the Sky Nexus, where the connection to the Sky Primal is strongest. Here, sky magic flows like currents of air, and those attuned to it can feel its power thrumming through their bodies. The view from the Spire encompasses all of Xadia, from the Midnight Desert to the Shiverglades, and on clear days, even the human kingdoms can be seen in the distance.

The Storm Spire
Nexus of Sky Magic
The History of the Storm Spire
The Storm Spire has stood for millennia and has witnessed the rise and fall of countless civilizations. It is not merely my homeāit is a symbol of draconic power and the enduring nature of magic in our world.
Legend says that the Spire was formed when the first Sky Archdragon, in a display of immense magical power, raised the mountain from the earth to touch the heavens. Whether this tale is true or not, the Spire has been the seat of draconic power since time immemorial.
Throughout history, many have sought to claim the Spire for themselves. Most recently, the dark mage Viren and his Sunfire elf ally Aaravos attempted to conquer it while I slumbered in grief. They were defeated by an alliance of humans and elves, including the Dragonguard Rayla and the human princes Ezran and Callum. This battle marked a turning point in the relations between humans and Xadia, proving that cooperation between our peoples is possible.
The Dragonguard
The Dragonguard is an elite force of warriors, traditionally composed of elves from all six primal sources, dedicated to protecting the Dragon monarch and heir. For centuries, they have stood watch over the Storm Spire, ensuring that no harm comes to its royal inhabitants.
After the fall of Avizandum, the Dragonguard disbanded in shame for failing to protect their king. Now, with the return of Azymondias and my awakening, I have begun to rebuild this ancient order. The Moonshadow elf Rayla, who helped return my son to me, has become the first of the new Dragonguard. In time, I hope to include worthy humans among their ranks as well, symbolizing the new era of cooperation between our peoples.
The Sky Nexus
At the very peak of the Storm Spire lies the Sky Nexus, a place where the connection to the Sky Primal Source is at its strongest. Here, the very air is charged with magical energy, and those attuned to sky magic find their powers greatly enhanced.
The Nexus serves as both a source of power and a place of communion for Sky Archdragons. It is here that I can feel most connected to the primal forces that flow through my veins, and it is here that Azymondias will one day come into the fullness of his power.
Few non-dragons have ever experienced the true power of the Sky Nexus, though the human mage Callum has shown a remarkable connection to sky magic despite his human origins. His achievements suggest that the boundaries between humans and primal magic may be more permeable than we once believed.
